I’m Matt Sapaula, a Marine Corps veteran turned finance expert, born and raised in the Cicero-Berwyn–Stickney area of Chicago. Raised with Filipino values of hard work and integrity, my middle-class upbringing led me to enlist in the Marine Corps, where I served for eight years, including combat deployments in the Persian Gulf and Somalia.
Facing financial challenges, divorce, and bankruptcy, I found my path through a chance conversation in a BestBuy bathroom, setting me on a journey into the financial services industry. My transition led me to a career in the insurance industry, where I became a Personal Producing Financial Professional.
In 2011, my wife and I shifted our focus from building a practice to creating an agency in the insurance industry. Partnering with PHP Agency in 2014, I embraced the mentorship of Patrick Bet-David and scaled his business, establishing the MoneySMART Movement.
